Trail Riding at JohnMel Stables is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with friends, family and significant others. The ride is one hour through a scenic woods by the lake. Horses are quiet and provide the perfect trail partner as you enjoy a private ride with your party only, plus an experienced guide. Allow 2 hours for whole experience as you groom and tack up your own horse and provide after ride care and treats!

Our approach to horse training is natural, gentle and individualized to each horse.  We start and re-start horses for riding or for the track, or re-training race horses as hunter-jumpers or event horses.  Reading each horse as we go, watching and listening to how they react to new challenges, we can customize the pace of training to the particular horse, ensuring continued forward progress. At JohnMel Stables we utilize the principles of classical training.

We value positivity and provide a supportive and encouraging environment.  At JohnMel Stables, it’s important to us to integrate the owner into the horse’s training process for a smoother transition.  We remain available for consultation on an ongoing basis.

JohnMel Stables provides inspired, educated sessions with our horses and skilled instructors.

We discuss behaviour of horses, herd dynamics and watch how horses can mirror human behaviour.  We teach individuals how to lead, groom and go through obstacles with a horse. We can provide a second part to the event with a trail ride or arena ride.

We have a sports lounge and full kitchen if you would like to have lunch or need a space to meet. We can create an experience that will match the needs for your corporation.
