Breeding

We breed thoroughbred and standardbred racehorses primarily.  We also breed warmblood and Clydesdale thoroughbred crosses.

Our breeding program is small and broodmares are carefully selected for pedigree, temperament and ability to produce a top performance horse.

JohnMel Stables currently have three stallions available for breeding.  Two thoroughbred stallions, Turfiste and JMR Turfiskey who is the son of Turfiste.  Turfiste ranks high in athleticism, bloodlines, conformation and temperament.  He has also crossed well with draft horses to produce excellent sport horses.  JMR Turfiskey is new to breeding.  The third stallion is a registered WestPhalian named Promeco.
